About Us

We primarily focus on supporting and encouraging critically-thinking and creative students in life sciences, regardless of their financial background.

Highly talented and critical thinking students might only be a small percentage of the population, but they have the potential to make a major impact in society. These individuals are able to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to some of society's most pressing and complex issues.

Critical thinking is not always easily measurable through the traditional methods of assessment generally used in our education systems. Academic grading and competitions based on multiple-choice tests and written exams can discourage creative students from taking risks and thinking outside the box, as they are more concerned with memorizing the facts and taught ideas needed to achieve a high grade or win a competition rather than exploring new ideas. These kinds of standardized benchmarks can be a barrier to identifying students with high potential for creativity and critical thinking.

Instead, a more holistic approach to assessment, such as project-based evaluations and portfolio reviews, can provide a more accurate picture of a student's potential for creativity and critical thinking.

By identifying and supporting these talented critical thinking students, we can help them to develop their skills and make the connections needed to make a major impact in society by working towards solving the pressing issues of food security, climate change, and other global challenges.
